ADOPT BEAGLES. WE HAVE TOO MANY.
i swear that's almost all i walked today. and i walked so many dogs i dont know if i cam remember them all. i walked at least three or four beagles, and there are at least two more i know we have that i didnt walk. we have more of them than anything else. even pit bulls. and we have a lot of pit bulls.
as long as george actually had his surgery like he was supposed to, he made it through. i saw him sleeping in his cage today. the shorthair dachshund has already been adopted, but he hasn't been taken home yet. his name is strudel. the longhair is still terrified and named oliver. we also got a new pit puppy named leon who's really cute. and on the pit note, we got a white pit bull-american bulldog mix and he looks just like chance from homeward bound. his name is verne. people name dogs some asinine things. we should change his name to chance. :)
moose also got adopted, who was a really, really cute shepherd mix. they didnt take his buddy, though. :( so we've still got rocco. they'd come from some people who got divorced and decided neither of them wanted dogs i guess, and we were trying to market them together but i guess it didn't work out that way.
probably not in correct order...
churchill - beagle - really wanted to run out the gate when i was taking him out, and pulled on the leash so much i got a rope burn. he's lucky he was cute.
joey - beagle - the one that tried to kill me before. a much easier walk when i can take him out through the outside gate.
chapman - beagle - the only non-ridiculously wild beagle we have. very cute, and likes to pick up sticks and run around when i am trying to tie my shoe.
barley - jack russel - this dog can jump FOUR FEET IN THE AIR. and regularly demonstrates this skill, to bark over the wall at the dog in the cage next to her. kind of a tough walk, because she was going all crazy, and i kept nearly stepping on her. shortly after putting her away i had to bring her back out for a family to try. im pretty sure they decided to adopt her though, so that's cool. my customer service skills are ridiculously fabulous. give me a job god damn it.
barnaby - jack russel mix - i didnt get to walk him very long because i was the only volunteer there for a while and that family needed me to take barley out. but he's cute. and not quite as neurotic as the average jack, although still pretty bouncey.
bear - CATTLE DOG (!!!) - i hope i someday have enough land to have a cattle dog. they're awesome. i was there so long today that i ended up walking bear twice, and he is SUCH A SWEETIE. probably the cutest dog ive ever seen. he just wanted me to sit on the bench the whole time so he could put his head in my lap and lick me.
amy - basset hound - she drooled a ton and then shook her head, so it flew everywhere and when i put her back in her cage she had a string of drool on the top of her head. it was pretty gross. she was pretty cute though. basset hounds are weird looking.
it looks like the dog that had giardia had never been walked on our grounds, so they're confident that the property isn't contaminated. we're bleaching everything anyway, though. and kennel 2 is closed, which is kind of odd.
3 hours (I AM EXHAUSTED!)
