Figure vs. bikini

I was training with my coach today and he asked me to lift up my shirt, I oblige. He said he couldn't believe how lean I have gotten so quickly (pat on the back for following my diet!). He said so many of his clients are terrible with the die and it's been very obvious I am eating very clean. I weighed 126 today...I wanted to take some new pics but J was out and my last ones were 2 weeks ago at 129 and I'm not personally seeing much difference but J and Ty apparently see it and that's good I suppose.

I'm working my ass off and it's incredibly hard. I have good days and bad. I'm learning the tricks of the trade of what I like to eat whats allowable and what literally makes me sick to my stomach. My options are so incredibly limited. I ate a banana before training this morning and it tasted sinful. I love that though. Fruits are these amazing treats to me (I only eat them before training). My entire system has been reset. I don't crave foods and rarely feel hungry. It's only hard because other people make it hard. My family was in town last weekend and we went out a lot. I can go out easily. I can always order salad and hard boiled egg, or fish and veggies, shrimp, etc. But when they're eating dessert and decadent meals of course it's hard. When it's right in front of you. When people at work bring in baked goods every Friday and when your husband is not on your diet. But...it's doable. Easy it is not. ;). My little brother joked that after I ordered a shrimp Caesar salad from a waitress "without this and this and this" I was just going to get a plate of lettuce It was hilarious to everyone at the table when that was exactly what arrived! They forgot my side of shrimp, but it was pretty funny.

Back to today. I rarely work out in tank tops. And after warming up I took off my hoodie and we got to lifting. I was doing burpee pushups and my coach was leaning over a bench counting them off, after I finished he said. "I'm shocked how much muscle you already have on your frame". Seeing as I had done Crossfit before this, it makes sense, but I have continued to add muscle in the past month. he then proceeded to tell me how I have the perfect body composition (once my body fat drops another 10+% points or so ha ha) to do figure because I already have the muscle for it and how it's so hard to put on muscle for most girls. Apparently I am a dream come true for him because we just need to sculpt muscle and lose fat, and fat loss is the easier part (ha ha way easier said than done). So....a conundrum. Though he tells me the girls on stage look like that for literally a single day and are regularly beautifully sculpted, small and lean it's just not a good look to me. Sure I like a buff woman, but it's not what I intended. I am flattered, and I am happy to be gaining muscle as it's so important for women to have muscle as we get older. But I'm not sure.

Bikini - rules require a softer look, no muscle "cuts" no posing just go strut your stuff

Figure - "cuts" required, legs, shoulders, specific poses

I'm just going to keep working and let my body dictate where I will compete in July...not sure I have much say in it. ;)
