Well I finally finished reading Alan Alda's book. Good stuff...quote time!!
"For ten cents, a gas station down the block would sell us enough kerosene to blow ourselves up. It's not clear why we didn't."
"Memory can be a kind of mental taxidermy, trying to hold on to the present after it's become the past."
"Don't assume you think like a snake unless you are one."
"This thing could run for a year or two." (when talking to his wife about M*A*S*H for the first time)
"There's something about sharing the helplessness of a laughing jag that brings you closer together."
"Real listening is a willingness to let the other person change you."
"Well, I'm from a mixed marriage. My father was a man, and my mother was a woman."
"She didn't snore like an angel, either; she snored like a fully grown moose." (about his night nurse in Chile)
"But if you have to hear some advice, if you must have advice...whatever you do, for GOd's sake, don't stuff your dog." (end book)
