THE event 2006!!
Ok..forgive me, but I HAVE to write a post about it!! Today is the opening of the Soccer Worldcup in Germany!! :) It is actually quite sad, that I am not home at the moment! I would love to expirience the atmosphere! (To go to the stadium itself, would have been quite difficult, I guess! :O) However.."we" are the host..and I am sure next to drinking beer (rofl) Germans second most important thing is soccer!! Ok, we have a bad team..I think we are only No 16 or so in the world ranking list, but who cares?? Lets see how they perform in the opening game later today against Costa Rica!
In our group we are having this soccer bet an...Everybody paid 10 Rand and you have to guess the scores for the different games..and the person who has most correct guesses wins the checkpot! It sth like 450 Rand or so...not bad, not bad I guess! Not that I intend to win, but who knows.. The funny thing is, that in our floor (at least from student side) I am the only one whose home country is participating.. And do you know another funny thing?? South Africa hosts the World Cup in 2010...why couldnt they swop the two around?? Dam it..so I have to sit here (and I gonna watch the opening match tonight..thats for sure!!!! :))and cross my fingers for "my" team..Lets just hope they dont embarrize themselves too much... Everything is possible..really everything..with this team! :O
