well this weekend was alright. nothing out of the unusual./got alot done at school today/ im pleased with what i did./ i did 98% of the work on one side of our groups roof. and im pleased with the quality of the work that i did. it looks really good and professional./ then was the finishing class. i started in the building pete told me all that i had to do. i have to put casing around 2 windows, one with a sill the other without. and put some baseboard down.so i started on the window without a sill and its lookin pretty damn good so far. i just had time left in class to put on 3 sides of the casing, but for a beginner id say im doing good work, nice quality and good speed./ now that im away from that little dinky ass frame that we had to work on first, im feeling pretty good about myself being a finish carpenter. because we all had to make a small box frame so we could practice on putting on mouldings and casings. and we had to use 1/4" round first around the bottom edges, then we had to take some L shaped quarter round and put it around the top. then we had to take fancy cove mouldings and put it around the bottom, then we take another frame and put window casings around it, then we can finally go to the house. only 2 other guys besides me are finally working in the house./ it sure does feel good to finally know and do what your good at.
