Not too much to say. Still working on the apartment, need to sign the papers, hand over money, and then move in on the first of january. Work is still work. I finally got registered for school, go me. Just need to get the money to pay tuition and I will be gravy. So that's where the update comes in.
I called my dad tonight. Tim was turned down by sallie mae to be my co-signer, so I was in a bit of a pickle. So I though that maybe I would call my dad, tell him how much I want to do this on my own, and maybe he would co-sign for me. Of course as I was expecting, he didn't like the idea at all. We got into talking about all the factors, and this is where it got interesting. He told me that if I could get him off the original loan that his name is on, he will co-sign on this one! I am going to call Sallie Mae tomorrow to see what's up. Then the fact that I may not get his name off for another few months or so came up, and he told me to tell him how much I would need to cover till I got the loan, and he would help. It was really not what I expected, but it was the most pleasant conversation I have ever had with my dad about money.
So things are really looking up. I think I'm close to getting my dad off the first loan, at least I really hope. It takes two years of payments to get him dropped, and I've been paying for at least a year, I know that much. So here's hoping!
