the one thing nobody ever tells you about cold weather is the static electricity. that's one thing we never really worried about in florida; the air gets way too dry up here. take off a jacket and you can hear the snap and crackle of static from across the room. slide across the bedsheets too quickly? gettin' zapped. rub the zombiedog too fast? gettin' a nice shock plus an angry dachshund.
and another thing: the negatives are fucking cold. i just let zombie out to pee and the thermometer read -1. we were only out there for forty seconds tops, but it was painful. i'd never before felt air cold enough to physically hurt my body in less than a minute. my face got so cold my jaw muscles started twitching. my ears feel like somebody punched them.
and it's supposed to snow in a few days. for a few days.
still, it's nice during the daytime. cloudless blue skies are far more frequent in the cold weather.
