So I'm reading Franny and Zooey again for about the 20th time. And every time I read it, some line that I've read every other time before always jumps out and catches me like I'm just reading it for the first time. And this time, it was this one...
"He had a theory, Walt, that the religious life, and all the agony that goes with it, is just something God sicks on people who have the gall to accuse Him of having created an ugly world."
I don't know exactly why that hits home for me so much right now... Maybe it's because, while I keep complaining about having to wake up at 4:30-5:00a, I secretly love being able to watch the sun rise now... =)
