So's your face

Hahaha, I don't post in almost a year, and what brings me back to LiveJournal? The fact that I have to write a report and don't want to. When all other procrastination outlets fail me, I come desperately crawling back to LJ.

@LJ friends who I don't keep in touch with anymore: I'm sorry I don't keep in touch anymore. Sometimes I see people on MSN/AIM and think "I should keep in touch better with this person, but I don't want to bother them :S". Posting to a journal is much less intrusive way to keep people updated on my ever so exciting life. Don't expect everyday posts though; you wouldn't like them. "Today I went to work. When I came home from work I played World of Warcraft. Then I went to bed." is what they would read.

So what's up with me? My last post was shortly before beginning a school term wherein I was taking the dreaded trains. After countless late nights in the lab and at least 3 all nighters, I'm happy to add Trains to my life of academic conquests. My dad was right... bird-course :D

The other exciting news from last term is that I got a co-op job at Google's NYC office. I moved there (here) in August and I'm here till the end of December. Working at Google is very amazing. Not only is it super cool to work for the people who organize teh intertron, but they treat employees VERY nicely. They have a full time kitchen staff that cooks gourmet lunch and dinner for me everyday (for free of course). They've got Guitar Hero set up in the games room, and the office is so large that you get from place to place by riding a scooter. It's awesome.

But the term is quickly coming to an end. I've got about a month's worth of work to do in only 2 weeks. My boss said that it's okay if I don't finish it all before I leave, which I interpret as "You damned well better finish it if you want an outstanding performance review." On the 21st I head out to California where I'll be meeting my Danielle and the rest of my family for Christmas. Then we fly back to the frozen north in January for school.

Any term should seem easy after taking Trains, but in my unending masochism, I think I've managed to stack my next term to be just as grueling:
- Compilers (just as hard as trains, but slightly less work)
- Advanced Theory of Computation (advanced courses make my soul bleed)
- Quantum Computing (you must be in 4th year to take this, but I exploited a loophole and enrolled anyway)
- Coding Theory (not sure what to expect)
- Linear Optimization (also not sure what to expect)

What else is up with me? Despite my attempts to avoid TV whenever I can, I've taken a recent obsession with Scrubs. It is hilarious, this I cannot deny. I bought an iPod touch and fully hacked/unlocked it. It increases my geek-factor tenfold; I love it. I use it to hack in Python on the subway. Next weekend I'm taking a trip to Philly to visit some of my World of Warcraft buddies. Also to eat cheesesteak.

And one last thing: Daler Mehndi, the creator of Tunak Tunak, has some videos that are just as awesome, if not awesome-er. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5RyrkamJNro
