They're taking the hobbits to Isengard

Time for a most substantial post.

Exams are over and done with, marking the end of an awesome term. Marks aren't back yet of course, but I think I did well this term, and even have a shot at Dean's List, even taking rings into account.

Now I bum around for the next couple of days until going to my grandpa's place for Christmas. After that, I hop on a plane to Calgary to meet Danielle's family and spend new years with them.

Now, to properly wrap up the term, I'll review some media.

I discovered two very very talented people this term, screenwriter Charlie Kaufman (Being John Malkovich, Adaptation, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and director Michael Gondry (The Science of Sleep, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and many fantastic music videos). Kaufman writes very strange but extremely effective stories that are difficult to describe if you haven't seen anything by him. Everything Gondry touches shows off his style and creativity; again, very hard to describe except by example. I highly recommend watching anything worked on by either of them, which goes double for movies they collaborated on. As previously reviewed, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind is one of the best movies I've ever seen.

Today, while killing time on youtube in Watsfic, we stumbled across a rant about how much playing Pachebel's Cannon on a cello sucks and how Pachebel is stalking us in all genres of music. It's HILARIOUS.

Also in Watsfic, Vinay introduced me to an awesome techno remix of The Lord of the Rings music. It's so excellent that it was stuck in my head during my exam.
