I'm sure you've all heard of Robocode (http://robocode.sourceforge.net/), the contest where you write an AI for a robot tank and then fight it against other robot tanks... but how many of you have heard of HoboCode?

I have 2 different directions I could take this, but they both have the same premise: teaching homeless people how to do computer programming.

As a Survivor style reality TV show, there could be a number of hobos in a shelter equiped with the latest digital technology. They would have semmenars on the basics of computer science, and then would face of in programming contests to win immunity and try and not get voted out of the shelter. The winner would get to go to university and have his education paid for.

As a pokemon style video game, you have to assemble a killer team of homeless people and teach them mad programming skills. If your hobos can't grasp the concepts, they'll have no chance when you face them off against other trainer's hobos in programming contests. Much like sports coaching, instead of teaching highschool students to play football, you teach homeless people how to program.
