OMG I FUCKING LOVE MUSIC

Jun 17, 2005 20:45

I've been downloading a lot this week... a lot of which has been only today. So here are some more new song obsessions. Not gonna bother with who (or what) got me into the band/artist or whatever this time, though.

Song: "Change the World" by Eric Clapton

I guess you can't call it a "new" obsession... it's an old song and I remember hearing it on mommy's radio station when I was younger and liking it then. Heard it when we were watching "Phenomenon" in AP Psychology, and so I was like, "I should download it." And I did, and I'm glad. If anyone knows any other songs by Eric Clapton that are awesome, lemme know. I think I have "Tears in Heaven" somewhere.

Some lyrics:

If I can reach the stars
Pull one down for you
Shine it on my heart
So you could see the truth

That this love I have inside
Is everything it seems
But for now I find
It's only in my dreams

And I can change the world
I will be the sunlight in your universe
You would think my love was really something good
Baby if I could change the world

Song: "I Don't Know You Anymore" by Savage Garden

Me and mommy were in the car going to drop off the dog or pick up Julie for the Pennsylvania trip, and "Truly Madly Deeply" was on the radio, and we were like, "hey, they haven't played this in forever!" Then later, at a McDonald's, another Savage Garden song played, except I don't remember which one. So, today, I've downloaded *looks* eight songs by Savage Garden, including this one. It's so beautiful. Just piano and vocals. I'm gonna post all the lyrics, 'cause the whole song is just... wow.

Some lyrics:

I would like to visit you for a while
Get away and out of this city
Maybe I shouldn't have called but someone had to be the first to break
We can go sit on your back porch, relax
Talk about anything, it don't matter
I'll be courageous if you can pretend that you've forgiven me

'Cause I don't know you anymore
I don't recognize this place
The picture frames have changed and so has your name
We don't talk much anymore
We keep running from the pain
But what I wouldn't give to see your face again

Springtime in the city
Always such relief from the winter freeze
The snow was more lonely than cold
If you know what I mean
Everyone's got an agenda, don't stop
Keep that chin up, you'll be all right
Can you believe what a year it's been
Are you still the same?
Has your opinion changed?

'Cause I don't know you anymore
I don't recognize this place
The picture frames have changed and so has your name
We don't talk much anymore
We keep running from these sentences
But what I wouldn't give to see your face again

I know I let you down
Again and again
I know I never really treated you right
I've paid the price
I'm still paying for it every day

So maybe I shouldn't have called
Was it too soon to tell?
Oh, what the hell
It doesn't really matter
How do you redefine something that never really had a name?
Has your opinion changed?

Because I don't know you anymore
I don't recognize this place
The picture frames have changed and so has your name
We don't talk much anymore
We keep running from the pain
But what I wouldn't give to see your face again

I see your face
I see your face

Song: "Sick Sad Little World" by Incubus

A less recent download, but oh well. Still really like it. Along with the Incubus song, "Stellar" that I won't post. One song per band/artist in a post.

Some lyrics:

No, you're not the first to fall apart
But always the first one to complain
You better get careful or you'll compromise everything you are

The world is a drought when out of love
Please come back to us
You're all of the above
I'm making a choice to be out of touch
Leave me be he said

Leave me here in my stark raving sick sad little world

I guess that's it for now. This will probably be a pretty regular event, me posting songs I like, 'cause my life is pretty boring. But it's all good. Music makes it all better.
