I've already updated briefly about the major events and some of the more note-worthy gifts of the season (although I want to make it clear that I loved each and every one of my gifts, even if it didn't get a special mention).
As the new year draws closer there are several things on my mind. After gorging myself on cookies and pie all week, weight-loss is definitely among them. Prior to the holiday binge I've been doing alright. I haven't really been dieting, per se, but I've been eating reasonably well and getting a good bit of exercise. I was averaging a loss of about .5 lbs per week, which is pretty good when you consider that I wasn't paying very close attention.
However, the holidays are drawing to a close and as a result my excuses for eating badly are drying up. This is fine by me. Starting January 1st, I'm participating in a weight-loss challenge
my sister is running. Additionally,
nicandab and I are trying to schedule time to complete a Couch to 5k program together. Cash prizes and smaller sizes, here I come.
Also on my mind is
Wicked Faire and everything I've got to get done between now and then. It shouldn't be too bad. I have one story I need to re-script and add to
Poison Apples & Pretty Witches as a nod to this year's theme. I also need to figure out how to costume Lilith for this event. I've got something in my closet that might work, but it will depend largely on how much weight I manage to lose in the next two months. I need a plan B. I also need accessories.
And choreography. I'm performing a number with
The White Elephant Burlesque Society and have the music all picked out. It's a song I dance to basically every time I hear it, but I need to create actual, stable, re-creatable choreography for it. Also, I probably need a couple of costume pieces.
Everything is very do-able. It just needs to be done.
