I just saw an advertisement on the LJ login page, wtf is up with that? this place will be myspace soon enough *shutter* I think it's time to re-vamp my ad blocking and LJ restyling efforts.
I've got two projects going at the moment (preempting the other 4 billion projects)
I'm building a second hull to go with my canoe, I'm turning it into a self contained Polynesian style sailing canoe.
The other project, is to build a sound insulated case for my 2 post little telco rack, I plan on running my jet-engine powered* web server and desktop system in it, along with my relatively silent file server inside it, it will be made up of a patchwork of old computer cases. I need to find some good fire-proof sound insulation, the blue or pink foam I love is pretty good at burning, so I need to find other materials that will muffle the sound and not have any potential for fire hazard.
I'm also waiting for my scsi disks for my desktop to arrive, I'm looking forward to bypassing the built in crappy ide controllers on my nforce 4 board. I'm quite excited because I was able to get my hands on a really hard core LSI raid 5 PCIe controller card with memory and a BBU, so it'll be raid 5 10k rpm drives on my desktop :D
