We've been catching mice out on the side porch. The porch is closed in, but it's still a porch. We have to get them before they figure out how to get in the house. I bought a no-kill trap at Lowe's and in the last 4 or 5 weeks we've caught 6 mice. I bought a little plastic cage that we keep them in until we can take them FAR AWAY to the country to set them free. I felt compelled to document this.
Apparently there are over a thousand species of mice. I thought they were
deer mice because their snouts are kind of crooked and they have white bellies, but I'm not sure. Fun fact, in researching the deer mouse I discovered there is also an animal called a
mouse deer which is quite odd-looking.
I have to say, they are cute. I also have to say, they are nasty. They smell HORRIBLE and poop and pee everywhere. They also carry diseases like typhoid so don't let the little cage fool you. I do not want them as pets I just don't want to kill them.

So that's my exciting mouse adventure. I would like to apologize to Joni for this post.
