BZZZT!

[There's no loud outburst or curse or clatter of the communicator being dropped. There's just silence.

Finally, Minagawa speaks up and... well, lets just say he's radiating a very nice pissed-mist that is also easily noticed in his tone of voice.]

...I can see the importance of wanting to avoid that.

[It won't do him any good to just ( Read more... )

[There's still a slight peeved look in his eyes but creepy voice is pretty much gone.]

I should be fine. The stinging ache is almost gone.

[By the way. Japan is no longer in his blanket.]

Ah.. I apologize that you had to deal with such a thing. I try to use mine a little sooner than recommended to avoid such things.

[Congratulations!]

You shouldn't have to, as it wasn't your fault. ...it's rather annoying to think we are being forced to use them when there might be nothing to talk about at all.

But, it could be useful for people who have a bad habit of shutting themselves away from the outside world. At least we'd know they are still among the rest of us. [SEE WHERE I'M GOING WITH THIS? :3a]

[MIGHT BE GIVING YOU A SLIGHT LOOK.]

Perhaps. If I truly wanted to avoid it, though, I suppose I could stick it in China-san's belongings.

...

Ah, if I may ask, what are those ingredients for?

[s-sob IT WAS WORTH IT.]

I think Korea-kun would be a better choice.

Mitarashi dango. ...this makes me wonder. If I may ask, what part of Japan's... or I should say, your history, is most relevant to you at the moment? In other words, if I were to tell you I exist in the year 2000 or so, would you know the state of the rest of the world, especially yourself, from that year and every year before it?

[Oh the Korea comment earns you a nicer look.]

I see..

Ah? I am from 1904, so I know everything about my own history from that moment back. Also, I've had some from the future tell me of.. certain events and wars.

[so proud of himself right now.

Except, he's busy giving you a very contemplative look. Don't think he didn't catch that brief pause about "certain events and wars".]

I apologize for troubling you with such a question.

[He sounds as genuine as he possibly can. Not exactly overly-sympathetic but... it's a touchy subject, he knows this. Better to just accept the answer and move on.]

Shall you be at the festival, Japan-san?

It's no trouble at all. [a lie, of course, but he's trying to express his appreciation for that concern.]

Festival...? Ah, I believe Gracia-san mentioned something of a festival. ...I-I am not sure, it is not one I've heard of, and yet it holds a Japanese name..

[Aaand we'll just quickly forget that even happened.]

I've never heard of such a festival either, but from what I have learned, not all Japanese people here are from the same Japan with the same customs and traditions.

It shouldn't be dwelled upon though. A festival is a festival, and it would be a refreshing event to have in our city. You should try to consider attending it. I would even offer you seconds at my makeshift dango stand.

I will consider it.

Well, it isn't a yes but it's better than a no.

I'll keep your portions tucked away safely.

[IT ACTUALLY USUALLY MEANS NO. but in this case it means exactly what he said.]

I appreciate it.
