Life as I know it...

First I must say that Chiefy wins many internets for finding a song I'm really stuck on. (“We’ll Always Be Together” from Okami)

This holiday is full of rush rush rush.... i finished the last embellishment Christmas morning.   I didn't get a chance to photo it since it's different fabric, but I wasn't very thrilled with it. My Granma really liked it though ^.^   I'm just so glad to be done, so that I can go back to my dress.  I did get so tired of the embellishing projects that I started making random origami goldfish which now reside on the Christmas tree. I'm seriously contemplating a tree next year with nothing but Christmas lights and various sized goldfish - I think it would look neat.  The last one is my favourite - the paper came from my cooking magazine. The other two are pieces of origami paper I happen to have.

The Christmas cacti are also putting on a show.

I also added Gina from Porco Rosso to my project list next year - it's one of my favourite animes, I've always wanted to do a flapper-style dress, and I won't need a wig.  The design won't be very difficult or time consuming, unless I try making the hat myself -never made one before. It'll also be very comfty for the really warm cons. Too bad no one will know who I am, but I'm quite ok with that.  I’m sorry I don’t have a better pic  than my quick screen shot here, but you get the idea….

Christmas was pretty quiet here, but I did get money ear-marked for fabric (the givers couldn’t remember  which shop to purchase a certificate for, so they just gave me the total sum as a cheque). I also rec’d a mini sewing machine. Some household things round out my holiday, along with a book about Oriental knot-work that I picked out over the summer. It should come in extremely handy for Foos’ Genji costume.
