mmm... painkillers

Well, as I have found out, there are youtube videos for just about every concert Dave has played.  I am listening to the exact Don’t Drink the Water that I listened to a week ago.  But I will not inflict upon you another Dave video, so if you want to see it, look it up :)

Oh, my skull.  PAINZ!  I endured Ventolin earlier, and while giving myself a headache felt perfectly cool and trippy then, now I am wishing for something… soothing.  So what do I listen to?  The entirety of I Care Because You Do.

You only have to listen to the first few seconds to figure out why it induces headaches.  Yeah, the whole song is like that.

When I first started obtaining music in a slightly, well, shady manner, I DLed a bunch of albums from artists I had wanted to give a try.  However, with most of them, their effect kind of fell flat.  Radiohead, The Killers, The Red Hot Chili Peppers… their stuff is good, even great (in Radiohead’s case)… but it’s just not my thing.  However, one man has continued to amaze me with each album I download.  His tracks touch me in a way that silly songs with poetry and guitars just don’t.  AFX, Blue calx, Power-pill, Polygon Window… Aphex Twin.  With many names, I present Richard D. James.

AND NOW…

OMGZ OMGZ help me help me!  I am a poor little creature here on this woodlot, and happened to move towards a vast flat space of smooth rock under a red brick cave…  Here, this strange consistency, black and tough, yet not hard… what is this giant green metal log?  AH!  I’m scared!  I’ll just slink off to the side now, where I am safe… AHHH!

“Come out!  Hurry!” my dad shouted.  I was here typing and jumped up.  In the garage was one of these:

But it looked an awful lot like one of these:

Red touches Black, you’re ok, Jack; Red touches Yellow, you’re a dead fellow.

My dad was not content to let the snake slither off into the yard, however.  So we engaged in a little game.  I held a pail to the asphalt, to where the snake had moved, the pail’s mouth facing out.  Dad took a broom, and tried to sweep the snake into the pail.  But he always missed the pail, and swept the snake onto my feet.  It’s complete phobia / human instinct reflex, and I screamed.  Finally, we got him in the pail, but he slithered right out.

“Ok,” said my dad.  “Here are some thick leather gloves.  We have to pick it up and take it down so we can throw it in the woods.”  Be my guest, dad.

“Don’t let it bite you!” my dad cried.  The snake kept slithering out of my hands.  We thought he was a baby, but later read that he was full grown at twenty inches.  Of course, I still thought I was carrying a baby snake with a weak jaw.  I was so excited that I didn’t get a good look at the thing, just hurled him into the trees.  I hope I didn’t hurt him.

I have officially christened the snake Richard, because after all, he is a King snake.  To learn more about the scarlet king snake and the snake it mimics (Coral snake), click here.

So I did my three mile walk today, at a nice slow pace while listening to my man Richard.  I am thinking I should be doing more rigorous exercise, but the idea of going for runs has seemed so… well, I would still do it and probably will sometimes, but… I HAVE FOUND A SOLUTION!  The LMT sells individual memberships for $90.  For me, it’d be money well spent.  I could walk/run there, swim a couple hundred laps (maybe), and then just go home.  If I were really tight, I could work out a schedule so I go right after work and spend my whole day on the move (although I doubt I could bike straight from work, because I can’t do hills).  It sounds almost Utopian to me, well, I’m probably stretching the meaning of that word, but what could be so exquisitely perfect than to work outside in the hot sun all day, then spend late afternoon and the early evening with a vigorous, relaxing workout at the pool?  Eight weeks of that, and I’ll be SET.  Meaning, I will probably lose weight by following that routine.  I can’t wait until my job starts.  I will actually be doing something with my life and not just sitting here writing LJ entries.  And eating >_<

I baked sugar cookies today, how smart am I?  But it was fun.  O yay, Ventolin’s on again.  I think I’ll give myself a headache, and then go to bed.
