profiling profiles
While i sat at home on this saturday afternoon with nothing to do i began to read peoples profiles, and i noticed how annoying some things can be:
1. Shout outs to Bahamas for people that are going this year.
You haven't actually gone yet, what are you shouting out to? I can deffinitly see someone putting the bahams thing in their profile after they go, but before? When i put up an away message noting that im going to KFC Taco Bell, i put it up while i am there. I dont post it two months before going to get myself stoked for the journey.
Along with that comes the cheesy spring break quotes. "Bahams, disneyland for alcoholics." "What happens in bahams stays in bahamas".. they are all annoying for their own reasons.
2. Lyrics to depressing songs.
What are you doing, trying to sadden people into talking to you? When faced upon the decision of talking to someone with lyrics by josh groban or some song about figuritivly dying due to being dumped id talk to the groban girl, i wouldn't be happy about it, but i wouldn't be all depressed and shit either.
3. Wierd pictures or images made with different characters.
They just suck.
4. Links to picture pages.
I dont mind the actual link itself, or the idea of the link, its how they are presented that sucks. All there needs to be is the words "my pictures" and people will know "oh theres the link for pictures". Most of the time in people's profiles you'll find "step into ME" or "BEHIND my tears". Sometimes there is a combination of number two on this list and the picture link. You need to read a long paragraph or two, that barely make sense, in order to evetually find the word worthy enough to be the pictures page link.
5. Birthday advertisements
No one wants to know how many days untill your birthday. Birthdays are not like other holidays. No one else gets happy on your birthday except you.
The spawn of the advertised birthday is even worse. When people start wishing themseleves a happy birthday a line needs to be drawn. Nothing has been accomplished on your birthday. You woke up, thats about it, you're lucky enough that people are addressing you and possibly giving you treats all day, don't push your luck.
