OK. So I've seriously fallen off on the online diary thing.
I hit the wall in a big way last week.
Things have been yo-yoing. My readings have been up and down, probably because I've been getting forgetful about taking my meds with meals. Today was the first day in about a week that I took my meds during meals instead of remembering after.
I nearly lapsed in a big way last night -- actually went into Saggio's and ordered a slice of cheese pizza.
Then Saggio's occasionally crappy service kicked in and 20 minutes later I was demanding my money back.
15 minutes later I was eating a turkey sandwich made from the groceries I bought at Smiths before going to Saggios.
So... there you have it.
My morning reading today reflected the fact that I didn't eat a slice of cheese pizza the night before -- 136 (diabetic but not above 140) Today was a dinner reading day and I had the lowest ever for an after dinner reading --125, well inside the normal range for a post-meal reading.
I finally bought a Wii last week and after setting everything up (I had to wire everything to my switcher box so that I could get my Wii, DVD player, VHS player and Playstation 2 all into one input on the TV) finally used it today. Twice.
I'm finding that the Wii is probably going to help get my exercise regiment going because... well.... it's not exercise.
It's playing video games. I always said if they made a slot machine like a video game, I'd get into gambling.
Well they've made an exercise machine into a video game and I'm all in.
So... exercised for 10 minutes this morning and 20 minutes tonight. Also went for 20 minute walk with my pal Damien. So, exercise is on. I should also point out that I was really tired when I got home. But I ate dinner (turkey sandwich with cheese, 42 carbs) and then put on my ratty black trainers (which need to be replaced soon... ) and went walking instead of lying down. Then instead of snacking when I got home, I relaxed, sent a few emails and then got on the Wii again.
So that's been good.
I'm not sure if this diary will return to its former form but... I think I'm gaining some momentum on this getting healthy thing.
So.... yeah.
