What Is a Ficathon?
A ficathon is basically a way to generate massive amounts of really awesome fanfiction. People posts prompts (which I will explain below) and other people respond with fanfiction. There’s also a time limit-you get a certain number of days to fill prompts before the ficathon is over.

As you can see, this ficathon is rather longer than our previous ones; due to the intrusion of school into the lives of many of our members as students or parents of students, we've decided to let this one run a bit longer as we expect it to go a little slower than previous ficathons. Of course, if this isn't a factor in your life, feel free to charge ahead at full steam. ;)
BE WARNED THAT THIS FICATHON WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR ALL MATERIAL BROADCAST IN THE UK. Other spoilers are allowed, but only properly warned and, in the case of fanfiction, posted only to the author’s personal journal and linked here.
Rules
- All prompts and fics must be focused on/heavily feature River Song.
- All ratings, genres, kinks, characters and crossovers are welcome and will not be bashed. Bashing the contents of anyone’s prompt or fic will result in the deletion of your comment and possibly a ban.
- This time, you are allowed to pimp your fic in this comm! As a trade-off, there will not be an up-to-date delicious during the course of this ficathon.
- Please only post prompts, fics or feedback here, in order to make everything easier to find.
- Prompts should be posted as new comments, and any fics written in response to prompts should be posted in reply to the prompt comment.
- Due to the length of some fics, feel free to post it to your private journal and post a link here. However, please do not link to any fic not written specifically for this comm-as always, we want new fic, not old!
- Only post one prompt per comment, please, to keep things neat.
- Please use the provided HTML formats to post prompts, fic, and links to fic.
- More than one fanfic can be written in response to a single prompt-don’t sweat it if you’re 3/4 done with your most epic story ever and someone else posts a fanfic for the same prompt.
- Please limit responses to prompts to fanfiction. No ‘this please!’ or ‘claiming’ is permitted for tidiness’ sake.
- Please post the title of your fill as the title of your comment, to make it easier to find fics!
What to Do
Posting Prompts:
Prompts can be nearly anything-situations, quotes, song lyrics, or evocative phrases are all popular. ‘Other specifications’ involves further refining your prompt-for example, rating, Things Not To Write, ‘no spoilers for ____’, etc.

Posting Fanfiction:
You have two choices on how to post your fanfiction. If it’s too lengthy to fit into a comment or if you just prefer to keep all your fanfic neatly on your journal (as I do), feel free to post it there. You may then post a link in the following format in response to the prompter’s comment.

Commenting on Fanfiction:
First of all, if someone responds to your prompt, it’s good manners to comment on the fic, even if you don’t like it. A simple ‘Hey, thanks for filling my prompt!’ will suffice. If you can say something nice about it, please do. Remember, flames and/or bashing of characters or pairings will not be permitted here-take it elsewhere.
