Yesterday was an extremely good day. After an extremely crappy week the week before last, I needed an extremely good day.
I got my first Solids test back. The class average was 65%, and I totally expected to be sitting well under that. I was thrilled when I found that I got a 65. Not only did I pass, but that keeps me in line with the curve before bonus points, and potentially well above the curve for a decent grade at the end of the semester!!! I needed that. I felt like the most awful student in the class when I only finished one problem. (Although I felt a little better when 3/4 of the class was still sitting there at the end of the test period.)
Then I found that the Monday night schedule is getting changed and I'll go back to working with one of my favorite people at work. This will make Monday nights less Monday.
And I got home and found flowers from Brian. They're beautiful, and while I'm not the most girly girl out there, I'm a sucker for flowers, especially if they're roses. ;-)
In other news, I'm determined to get a Prius when my Saturn dies. I test drove one two weeks ago and LOVED it. It maneuvers better than any other car I've ever driven. The trick is to save enough to make payment comfortably fit.
I restarted my Aran sweater. I learned how to knit an entire sweater in big circles so that I don't have to knit the whole thing together when all the pieces are done. But I'll still have to do the arms individually, but those are far quicker to do. I'm hoping to have it done by the new year.
And I have 9 weeks until my next half marathon. I'll be running the Flying Pig half marathon, and I'm really excited about it. All the volunteers dress up in pig ears, pink pig noses, and other pig regalia. I giggle everytime I think about the pics I've seen of some of the volunteers from last year. At least training runs are fun right now. :-)
This is a big marathon event, and will finally get to hang out with other running nerds to talk running. :-) If I can break my half time from last year's only half, I'll be even happier. In the meantime, knowing I can't skip training runs for the next nine weeks at least gives me reason to run.
