Freud and His Friends - 1 - Prologue

Disclaimer: I don't own Harry Potter, I don't make money off of this. I do own the plot!

Draco and Harry became involved in sixth year. It started from a fight gone wrong, progressed to a love-hate sex-buddies relationship, slowly developed into a romance and so on. They kept the relationship secret, at first from everyone, then Harry told his friends. Draco told no one. At first because it was sex wit the enemy, then because it was just sex, then because it was nobody's business, then because it would diminish his power in Slytherin, then because his family and friends wouldn't understand, then because he feared other people would interfere with their relationship - like Harry's did, then because it could wait till they graduated and Draco got some money and lived independently, and first and foremost because his family were devoted to Voldemort and would order his immediate death upon hearing who his son was in love with.

So the secret remained. They had to find places to meet and steal kisses in empty hallways, they never knew how long it would take till the next time they could be together, they kept appearances of hate and animosity, they got a few detentions together just to snog, they even had to obliviate a student or two - those who happened to see too much. Doing something in Hogwarts without even Dumbledore finding out was a difficult task, but Draco was ruthless in his quest for secrecy and went so far as to canceling meetings or turning them into fake fights when in the presence of others - including portraits. They hardly ever found a secure enough location and enough time to go much further than a blow job (often in the restricted space under an invisibility cloak), and every encounter was a precious gift - rare and hart to get. Holidays were the worst - Draco insisted on keeping up the routine and leaving to stay at the manor. Despite having to constantly look over the shoulder and having to endure long-lasting sexual frustration, the boy's sexual life was most fulfilling, fueled by passion and longing.

The changes began when Harry killed Lord Voldemort in the middle of seventh year - during winter holydays. As he later told Draco, much of the anger and frustration that led him to cast the killing curse at the first opportunity, stemmed from having to not even see during that time. With the threat of Voldemort lifted, the biggest impediments to making their relationship known were lifted, including Draco's father - who participated in the attack and was killed, and Narsissa - who was imprisoned in Azkaban. But enough obstacles remained that Harry unenthusiastically agreed it would be wise to postpone their "coming out" till graduation.

Much time was spent on talking and planning and yearning for their public declaration of love. The young men decided to do it at the graduation ball and leave immediately once it was over - as to avoid any retribution from the Slytherins.

The coming out was perfect. They shocked everyone by arriving shoulder to shoulder. That caused a fury of whispers and questions which they dismissed. Two songs later they upped the staked by standing near a Gryffindor table and taking each other's hands. Half an hour into the ball, having circulated the crowd while holding hands, they proceeded to dance together to a quick beat song. They were inseparable throughout the party. When it was time to announce the king and queen of the dance - Dumbledore's initiative meant to introduce muggle elements into the festivities - the best part of their plan was put in action: Harry, as expected, won the title of king; however, instead of announcing the queen out of the thee eager and giggling candidates, the ballot read - ~Draco Malfoy~.

With that, the royal couple proceeded to dance to a slow song, ignoring the commotion they caused.

It was perfect.

After Harry bid a quick goodbye to his friends, the two love birds dissaparated to continue the celebration in their newly rented home on the outskirts of London. They were tired and excited and made tender, unhurried love, in their new bedroom; for the first time not having to look over their shoulder.

Two weeks later the problems began.

Draco had difficulties performing. His interest waned as did his once ever-ready cock. He wasn't dysfunctional, not at all, but his erections wouldn't last long. He didn't initiate most of the sex and he tended to bottom more than before, proceeding to lay there and get bored. He still pushed back and made the right sounds, but sometimes he didn't even bother to try and come.

Conversations deteriorate as well. There seemed to be few topics to talk about and these were already discussed to such length that silence seemed as a welcome alternative.

Seeing Draco's disinterest and chronical annoyance, Harry tried to make things better by proposing during a party he set up for that sole purpose. Draco felt some surprise but little else at the proposition. Perhaps a tiny hint of fear was mixed in with the surprise, but he would never admit it even to himself. He loved Harry. He accepted, and they danced the night away - only to fight on their way home.

Draco solved his physical problem with a little research and a subsequent spell. Erection was not a problem anymore. Boredom still was. They tried using lust potions - which worked. But without the potions he was as uninterested as ever. And he was acquiring resistance to the potions as well. In addition to that, no potion could solve their problems outside of bed: Draco was irritated, angry, rejecting, needy, moody, harsh, jealous, bitter. Harry simply didn't know what was happening or what he should do to not lose his Draco to that unknown something. Even worse, Draco didn't know either. He thought things over and over, but in the end he only knew that there was "something", and that he just felt swamped by emotions he could neither explain nor control.

At one of his teary and regretful moods, feeling on the verge of loosing his losing his lover, Draco decided to turn to a professional.

TBC.

A/N: Well, I just would like to say: the more reviews, the faster I update. Even one line would do marvels.
