Poor J.K. answered a little question in a little q&a session and now the internet is all abuzz.....
Neil Gaiman had this to say about telling everything about a character. You always wind up knowing more about your characters than you can get onto the page. ....... Things the author knows about characters ....... that don't make it onto the page could include the characters' backstory, what they like to eat, the toothpaste they use.......
So, my question for you is this:
Should she have written it in? And, since she obviously didn't, should she have mentioned it at all?
