Much as I've loved Snape as a character, I think the whole Snape/Lily movement is a bit... off. Don't get me wrong, I felt just as bad and sympathetic as everyone else about Snape's plight, and I think what he did for Harry was brave and admirable, and all, but Lily loving him back? I don't know about everyone else, but I haven't exactly fallen in love with any of my guy friends, even the ones I've known since I was little.
I don't know, the whole fluffy Snape thing seems a bit odd. I loved Snape because he was so anti-fluff (even in Potter Puppet Pals!). I didn't find The Prince's Tale to be the least bit cute and adorable, but rather powerful, moving, and ultimately, extremely tragic (unrequited love... *sadface*). It gave even more strength to Snape's character. All of the "Lily should have chosen Snape!!" and "Snape...Awwww *pinches cheek*" stuff seems to diminish all the aspects that made him so memorable in the first place, before we found out that he harbored a deep, undying love. But that's just my interpretation.
(I'm sure this has been said a 1001 times already, so mods, if you want to delete this, that's fine. I didn't bring up the other Snape character bits, because I know that's been discected here before. I just haven't seen this tidbit.)
