On Tom Riddle

Do not pity the dead, Harry. Pity the living, and, above all, those who live without love.

So, do you pity Lord Voldemort?

My possibly expository, wannabe thought provoking, allegedly critical, ridiculously lengthy, and naturally highly spoilery essay on the nature of evil and a boy named Tom. Fake cut

urgh. I sure as hell pity him. I feel more at peace with the thought that he could repent and spend the rest of his afterlife in a slightly more bearable form.

I pity him a bit. With all the inbreeding in his mother's family, being an orphan and having what are clearly psychological issues as a young child (hurting others and feeling no guilt, stealing) Tom Riddle never had a chance.
