The hooligans were out in full force tonight. Among the usual riff raff were a couple of blokes with the pierced ears, tattoos and emotastic hair, but they seemed rather more perky than my usual mopes. They turned out to be members of a band from Ohio that were playing in the coffee house, and they invited me to come and see the show.
After work, I declined a ride home from my coworker, and I made my way to the coffee house. Apparently several bands were playing that night, but I stayed and waited. Many of the young folks that I know from around town spend time in the coffee house on Friday nights, and since I had never been in there, several of them said hi to me and made light conversation. Thirty minutes passed, and The Gun Show, their band, did their stuff. Not too bad - they were more to my tastes than the bands that played before them. Some would call it metal, some would call it hardcore, some would call it crap, and I didn't call it anything. But I think I liked them more for their personality than their music. I talked with some band members afterwards, I talked with the guy that runs the coffee house (and asked a series of questions as part of a new scheme), and then I went home.
On the way home, I talked with Nate on the phone. To catch up a bit, and to find out what fate my camera flash met. He believes that it is somewhere, but the precise location is unknown to him. He shall do research.
Then upon arriving home, I find that PH, one of my bosses/coworkers from my job in DC friended me on Facebook. I found this rather random and unexpected, and perhaps pointless. But then, msot Facebook stuff is fairly pointless to me. From reading her profile I learned that she does still work there, which is good to know.
I feel good today, tonight. The coffee house was a nice bit of variety to my typical evening, and Nate and PH also mixed it up a bit. It's very warm outside, and I think that I might go sit on the porch with my laptop. Maybe.
Four projects now vying for attention: XKCD, WC, ACH, RCA. I shall therefore shun all via YPP poker.
