The outlet in my room seems to be somewhat dead.

Today's activities were a pleasant mixture of productivity and light-hearted fun.
Following church, I came back to Jolene's place for cleaning. Since they're moving very soon, and there's lots to be done in terms of organizing and packing and cleaning, I decided to spend the afternoon assisting with such things. Aside from lunch, J and I did packing until she left for Lexa's bridal shower. Then I kept going for two hours until the rest of the family left to go look at the housing market. Then I kept going (took a break to play guitar and mess with the typewriter, though) until I began running out of things that I could do without supervision of the owners. I considered hitting the road, but I decided to hold out until someone got home, because the house wasn't locked and I wasn't sure how they wanted it left. The parents got home around 9, and Jolene returned at 9:30... with Hannah.
My plan had been to hit the road after saying goodnight, but since Hannah was there, I decided that it would be cool to hang out a bit longer. We watched a 20 minute parody of Doctor Who (by Steven Moffat, no less) and then discovered a rather delightful top hat.
The three of us then began rummaging through the closet (which had not yet been completely organized or packed; it's the last bastion of chaos) and putting together costumery. Then a camera was produced and photos were taken (hooray for midnight photoshoots!) until my battery ran out. Then I went home, arriving at one in the morning - definitely not what I had in mind, but at least the door was unlocked and some people were up. I walked in the door wearing my 40s trenchcoat, a top hat, and a cravat-esque shirt thing. Given the sleepiness of Brennan, Rachel, Victoria, and Jesse, I think I got some fairly decent reactions.
Anyway.
Tomorrow's plans include a few hours spent walking the other side of W Long, and other various streets. Yet again I survey the employment scene. There are three particular places at which I would like to work. I've applied at one already, and will be getting in touch with them tomorrow. I originally went into that place a few days back, and didn't stop by today because it was Sunday. But it's a new week tomorrow, and it seems like a good time to see what's what. Alessandra recommended looking at the budget apartments before the college students suck them all up. This is a smart idea. I'll probably stop at the library to see what's in the papers, and later, when I'm up near the church, I'll find the number that I saw on the side of some building that said "Student housing."
Following that bout of Useful Action, Hannah, Jolene, myself, and whomever else wishes to join us, will hopefully be donning costumery once again and marching uphill to be silly and do photos.
After Monday... there is no schedule for this week. The wedding is marching toward us all. I need to finalize some of the plan regarding photography, since I'm the official Dude With Camera for the event. I also need to check on travel options for Mimi's wedding. I would also like to continue to aid Jolene's fam with packing and organizing. Someone told me that moral support is probably far more valuable than I think it is, so I will attempt to step up my efforts and availability on that front around this house. I also think it would be prudent to pursue the job thing until it gets done. I like working much more than not working, and I really don't want to stay in this house any longer than originally planned. Unfortunately, the jobhunting itself is not particularly inspiring, and needs a bit more conscious effort. I feel confident about being able to find something reasonable, and I think that has probably dulled my efforts a bit. But this week is probably the best time to work on that, so I will do so.

I started reading Blue Like Jazz, on recommendations from a pastor, a parent, a friend, and a mentor. Will post commentary here if there's anything worth saying about it.

Very sleepy. Need to eat something, and prepare for tomorrow.
