To Moxfest '08

I'm rather amused at the spectrum of Kennywood reviews, particularly the contrasting first lines.

Hannah: "Kennywood was bloody marvelous."
Sarah: "Kennywood was fantastic as always."
Me: "Kennywood was cool if you like that sort of thing."
Victoria: "Kennywood was not fun. I hated it."

What I did not know before is that I have an irritating tolerance for intensity in coasters, apparently, since none of the ones there seemed adequate. I went on the Jackrabbit, Thunderbolt, and Phanton's Revenge, and not one of them was even close to being too much.

The park in general was decent. On an un-noteworthy Wednesday afternoon, it was not crowded. There wasn't any outrageous riff-raff, and it was relatively clean. I just don't get a lot of kicks out of places like that. Noah's Ark, while not intense to me, was my favorite "ride" for how well it accomplishes it's goals. If I were 9, it would have been awesome.

The flights to DCA and Maine were uneventful, pleasant, and somewhat dull. But the total travel time was significantly more brief than a bus trip, so that's very cool. I discovered that I prefer BWI to Dulles or DCA, now that I've been through all of them.

'Tis Saturday, July 12. Moxie festival is today. I've never been, and Ted's never been. We're going. I stayed up late watching Simpsons on my computer, and slept for about 4 or 5 hours. Doh.

I visited Allison at Chop Point yesterday afternoon. the place is the same as always. There are soem minor changes, but for the most part, Chop Point is Chop Point and will always exist, apparently. It was such a staple when I was very young, and it is one of the most common locations in my dreams.

Chop Point did not feature in last night's dream, but Maine did. Last night I dreamed that I was trying to get to work (which was in Maine, not VA) on time, and I was freaking out because I was late, had a dirty shirt instead of a clean work shirt, and so on. Then I looked at my watch, and I was actually four hours early - and not employed anymore, because I quit a few weeks ago. I basically dreamed that I was walking in my old habits and having major lapses of mental acuity. Then I randomly bumped into Jake and RJ Hall, Leah Bode, and some other VA person at a McDonalds, and they cheered me up. Then my alarm went off and I realized that it was time to get ready to go to the Moxie fest.

So then. Off to the Moxie festival.
