Summary: Two drawings and a double drabble exploring Spock's "doghouse" subspace.

Sometimes, there is a darkness within Spock. A restless, seething ache that stirs within him; twitching with scarcely contained anxiety, urging him to not...

To not temper his reactions or control the swell in his chest.

To not contain the tendency his fingers have to reach for other people.

He thinks it is his fear.
McCoy thinks it is his humanity.
Perhaps they are the same thing.
When the ache gets too sharp, when his breath comes too fast, Spock gives himself over. There is no pain in this place, this doghouse. There is only obedience, the surrender of control.

With every order that is obeyed and not given, with every sigh that is sighed and not stifled, the ache lessens. He is allowed to strain into the pets and the presses, the slow caresses and progression of yeses and “Good boy, you’re such a good boy, Spock.”

Here in their doghouse, held snug against the mattress beneath a warm, human chest, Spock breathes. The dark, twisting mass of fear in his chest curls out and turns into sweetness, its iciness bleeding away.

He is owned for a series of remarkable moments, and his master is the kindest of men.

EDIT: Oh, also, here, have some random gifs.

I was visiting a friend in her college class and her prof. is a boring douchebag, so I decided to watch Arena, one of the few ST eps I hadn't seen yet. But I had to have it on mute, so I guess I paid more attention to how they moved and what they projected with their body language. Like McCoy's hand in this one:

I thought it was sweet and kinda sad, how he reached out but Spock kept moving his hand further.

And then I saw this:

Which I had to gif 'cause there are never enough gifs of Spock licking his chops.

And then the Gorn started talking into a mic for some reason and I couldn't hear it, obviously, so in my mind he was singing. And then this was born:

Yeah. I don't know either.

I still don't know what was actually going on in the episode. I kinda like my Foreigner theory.

So there.
