Looking for Uhura-centric Star Trek Novels
Are there any Star Trek novels that specifically focus on Uhura? In particular, her background, family life, and other Starfleet postings before she became chief communications officer on the Enterprise?
I apologize if this seems like a basic question, but I just finished reading Uhura's Song by Janet Hagan, and I was very disappointed to find that most of the novel's focus was on an OFC named Evan Wilson. I mean, WTF? Why would any die-hard Trek fan care about a character that they have never heard of, and will never see again?
Silly me, but I thought that given the title of the book, and the fact that Uhura was an actual character on TOS, that the reader would get to learn more about her. Are there ANY novels at all with a focus on Uhura?
