Author's NoteThis story does start with the premise I explored in a collection of short stories (How the Mighty Have Fallen) that the Fall of Vulcan left too many Vulcan males who were emotionally traumatized/unbonded and went into Pon Farr early and tragically...in a way that the galaxy couldn't miss. Vulcans became known for their aggressive Pon Farr selves, and stopped being seen as quite the logical benevolent beings.
But this story ISN'T tragic. Overflow is a very untragic Pon Farr Story.
If you want an angsty Pon Farr story, I wrote this a while back: How the Mighty Have Fallen: The Seven Year Debt it got great reviews and is one of my favorites.
