Goodness gracious.

I continue to marvel at your wondrous, perfect depictions of this relationship. This possessed a more internalized perspective than your previous effort, and thus the intensity of the situation also jumped up quite a few notches. There was so much to evaluate here, but somehow, through the lute, you wrapped it all up with just the right touch. While it's a nice homage to TOS, it's also evident how inherent the object still is to their current, somewhat flawed connection. Truly a beautiful conclusion to it all.

Moreover, it's absolutely chilling how I could literally feel everything Uhura herself envisioned within each sentence (Um, in the most tame way, mind you).

or not.

ANYWAY.

Instead he had drawn two fingers so delicately-so weightlessly that she had wondered if he would ever make contact-over her skin, tracing her lines as if he were exploring a star chart, connecting each droplet of sweat that had formed from her initial apprehension.

I find myself very partial to this line (Her body is a starchart ;alsdkjfadlfkj!!), because believe it or not, I composed something of a similar nature for another fandom ages ago...only they were tears and not sweat droplets. Ah, nostalgia!

You make me happy in ways that should not be healthy and probably aren't. D: Eeee, dammit. <3

I REALLY wanted to pay homage to the lute-playing in TOS; and I am DEAD SET on wanting a lute scene of SOME kind in the next movie, even though I'm not likely to get it. So I'm really glad that translated over well; I wasn't sure it was going to. But guh. Relief. *collapses*.

And that liiiiiine. It was one of those kneejerk lines that came to me at random, but I love it so. XD And yay for nostalgia!

ilu. <3

:D The feeling is mutual!

And oh boy, now I want a lute scene as well (Just imagining ZQ playing it is already making me go ohhhh man) :( Look at what you did!

I also just listened to the song you linked to (Fail on my part since I probably should've done that previous to reading the fic), and it's so freaking pleasant. Now the tone of the ending makes even more sense :)

Not another line-that-came-to-me-in-the-shower? XD

I think there are like...three lines in there that came to me in the shower, but that wasn't one of them. XD I crack myself up when I write though, cuz I'll get those lines and type them down and then when I start writing the fic, I'm like okay...interject THIS line THERE...*completely revolves her fics around her shower lines* >_>;

And I just love that song. <3 I have been listening to it for the past two days.

...I actually bought soap crayons so I could write my ideas on the shower walls. No joke.
