I think it will be very interesting to see how they handle the question of Vulcan having experienced a Holocaust and Spock facing the question of whether he should follow his heart or marry in to side with his people (if they'll have him - they may not want human genes mixed into such a limited gene pool).
I read somewhere that JJ is intermarried and it makes me wonder if some of that will turn up in the Spock/Uhura relationship in the next movie.
But I think it's more likely that they will explore the loyalty vs. love idea. After all, even today Jews who marry out sometimes have people accuse them of 'finishing Hitler's work for him'.
Thank you. I hadn't written fan fic in ages, but after the movie that one just demanded to be written and it opened the floodgates.
I know they may surprise us, but Spock is sort of an icon for children of mixed heritage and esp. interfaith, so I sort of hope they touch on that angle. There are a lot of people who have a sense of identity and even loyalty to communities that don't entirely accept them. That hits really hard when it comes to relationships either in or outside of the community.
Thanks. Actually I assume T'Pau will probably know who he is and keep him out of the breeding program too, but Prime will find his own solution (maybe on Hellsguard or maybe by trying to intervene on Romulus earlier).

Yeah, I know but they might surprise us. I was certainly surprised with Uhura/Spock!
