I just rewatched "It's a Terrible Life" and now I'm on the hunt for a fic I read maybe a month or two ago set in that 'verse. I believe Dean has the same sales/marketing job he had in the episode, and Castiel is a cynical reporter/writer who's writing a story about Sandover. maybe it's this one : ? a better method of pretending (Dean is a young and hard worker living in a shitty place near Cleveland, with one plan - to get his boss's job. When the possibility is complicated by a journalist by the name of Castiel, Dean has to learn to work with the writer and make nice. Of course things get complicated and Dean isn't sure to balance how he feels about work, this relationship, his best friend Sam, and how Castiel is kind of an enigma, though every time they get closer his barriers seem to weaken. But where does Cas draw the line, and how does Dean figure out what the hell he wants? )
