Specific fic, Dean/Cas living together in a house or cabin, retired from hunting and Cas is fallen
I'm remembering more about this fic's details over time, but cannot for the life of me find it again. I believe it was on ao3. I know I have read it at least twice in the past, and I thought it was a popular enough fic that I would be able to find it again easily now that I'm thinking about it again by filtering for bookmarks/kudos, but am having a very hard time!
- Post-retiring from hunting (but they aren't super old or anything), Dean and Cas are living together in a house/cabin, I think Sam lived with them (pre-fic) initially but moved out and started his life on his own, so there is maybe some tension between Sam and Dean about that, but they still keep in touch throughout the fic. Dean and Cas have separate rooms in the cabin
- I think Dean works as a mechanic in this fic since he's no longer hunting, and I recall Cas maybe making his lunches or something that he brings to work
- Cas finds projects to do around the house/cabin, pretty sure he starts gardening and cooking, he might have found a cat?
- Basically, a slow-burn where Dean/Cas steadily come to realize they cannot exist without each other, and I think the people around them already assume that they are dating/married; they're learning how to life together post-hunting/post-fall
- I remember there being some fighting/miscommunication between Dean/Cas at points
- Kind of recall scenes happening on a porch at the house/cabin, with Dean drinking a beer/the two of them eating food Cas made/drinking coffee, or something like that
Last possible detail I remember maybe being a part of this fic is that Cas is fallen and may have his grace in some kind of pendant necklace that he/Dean wears? I can't remember if this is 100% a part of the fic I'm looking for here since it has been so long since I read it, but there's a strong possibility it is part of the story.
