the fic i’m looking for was pre-series. i think sam was like 15 or 16 and i’m pretty sure john thought sam wasn’t good at fighting and wouldn’t be able to keep up in tough situations. the monster was invisible and really strong and they got a bunch of other hunters to help, but when they set up the trap sam knew something was wrong, but they didn’t quite believe him. i just remember that they thought he died but sam actually killed the monster with his hands and like a rock.
