A/B/O WIP: Jared as a pregnant, widowed omega?
This was a 'verse consisting of two multi-chaptered fics. The last time I checked, which I'm guessing was two or three years ago, the first fic was completed and the second was still ongoing.
It takes place in a world where the government assigns every omega to an alpha when they come of age. Teenage Jared is assigned to JDM, who's traditional but also kind and not too strict. They get married and move into a big house in an upper class suburban neighborhood and in time they fall in love and are fairly happy together. (I remember that Chad is assigned to a female alpha who's wealthy but neglectful and he ends up having an affair with his tennis instructor. Jared is pretty upset by Chad's whole situation.)
Jensen (an alpha) works at the local grocery store and he's always overly friendly to Jared, to the point where Jared becomes uncomfortable. One day he gives Jared a business card and Jared hides it in a drawer when he gets home; Jeffrey finds it, forgives Jared for not telling him about it and explains that he's aquainted with Jensen's family. (Actually, he might be their lawyer?) Jensen is kind of a black sheep. He's an activist fighting for omega rights, he's been arrested several times and his parents are extremely embarrassed by all this. Jared likes his life the way it is and doesn't believe omegas need liberating. He vows to avoid Jensen in the future.
By the start of the second fic, Jared is pregnant and JDM has died of a heart attack. As a new widow, Jared is running into some legal trouble; my memory is fuzzy, but I'm guessing omegas can't inherit a late spouse's property or something along those lines? He goes to Jensen for help and it seemed like the fic was headed toward a J2 endgame.
The title and the name of the author are escaping me, so if anyone can help, I'd be very grateful!
