RPF w/ AU/OC changes OR setting change, but not both. How do I find these kinds of fics?
Does anyone know of there is/are specific term(s) or tag(s) for these kinds of realities? As in Jensen and Jared actually being who they are in real life.
Like, I go to the Supernatural RPF section on sites and it's 85% of people using the actor's names to write stories about completely alternate AUs. J2 are little kids trapped on mars or one is a king with a kingdom to rule, the other an octopus trapped in sand. <- I just started making up crap off the cuff. Sometimes those are awesome, but not really what I'm in the mood for right now.
Other times, they're more like the actual people, with only slight bit of OC tweaking. Like maybe they chose a different profession and are firemen instead of actors, but for the most part, Jensen is still Jensen and we explore how his life would be different had the star made different choices. Those are super great too.
I love reading all of the different kinds, but then sometimes I get a craving to read about the actual actors with the setting as the same. As in, they still work on a tv set in modern times. From there, reality and OCness can be altered in a small way or to the extreme. Just so as long as it's still happening to stars of a tv show, not ninjas in 15th century BC.
The latter kind mentioned can be really hard to find sometimes. Is there a way to distinguish between the different types while searching?
Recs would be super awesome and appreciated, but if anyone could help me improve the way I search on my own (teach a man to fish style), I'd be so greatful.
