I read a story awhile back where the boys were still in school. I think Sam was like 13 or 14. And he got all mad because he couldn't do something. I don't remember what is was but he ran away because he didn't want to listen to Dean anymore. And Dean had to call John because he couldn't find Sam. John kicked him out and told him to no come back unless he had Sam. I think Sam ended up hictching a ride with a trucker to the next town over. I'm pretty sure it was on AO3 but I can't find it.
I would also love to read any similar stories where Sam gets mad because of how they were living and and does something and Dean takes the blame. I love dean!whump
