I don’t know the specific fic you’re looking for, but for the recs - these are two of my favourites where Jensen is emotionally hurt by Jared:

The Broken Heart Is Blind by dimeliora
In this one, Jensen has to bodyguard for Jared’s new boyfriend, after Jared dumps him (has a happy ending).

World Goes 'Round By Misunderstanding by queerly_it_is
This has Jensen being hurt by Jared due to a misunderstanding. Heed the tags though - includes mpreg, underage, age difference.

There's also this J2 fic, which is probably not exactly what you were looking for, given there's emotional hurt on both sides (i.e. not just Jensen, they're both sort of equally hurting & at fault, err I don't want to give away too much :s). A sort of Brokeback Mountain scenario with doctors:

Jensen goes through all kinds of hell in this jailhouse fic & it fits your trope (I don’t want to spoil too much). Warning - this is a really dark fic, but this writer is exceptional & it’s absolutely brilliant, if you're ok with dark fics.

Thanks for the suggestions - I've read (and loved) World goes 'round before and is definitely the type of thing I'm looking for but the others are new to me. Will definitely give them a shot.

There's also one where Jared's a rock star & Jensen his friend/boyfriend from before he became famous. I don't remember the name, but if anyone does I would greatly appreciate it :)
