Hi!   I'm excited to contribute a monthly summary of the visual rollercoaster that is Tumblr.   Each month I hope to share some lovely eye candy from across Tumblrland.

For those of us who have been on LJ for quite awhile Tumblr is an exciting place to explore.  It can also be overwhelming and confusing.  Several months ago I began to venture

I am actually applying that strategy now too. Just unfollow (or not follow in the first place) when they post a lot of long text post. That's the main thing that bothers me on Tumblr, the long-ass text posts :P There's an easy enough way to use the read more link, but many people don't know how, so I end up scrolling down an endless page of text on my teeny-tiny mobile phone screen *eye roll* Not cool.

To each their own, but that bugs me personally.

The average age of Tumblr users is actually 18-24, with #2 and #3 the 12-18 and 24-30 groups, but the ones in the 12-18 and 18-24 groups are probably the most vocal. In the Supernatural fandom anyway, as far as I can tell. That, and the Destiel shippers :P I'm kidding, don't shoot me!

Yeah, passion is good, I'm just too old for some of the hysteria, I think. And possibly too down to earth; Dutch people are "known" for being mellow and laid back (and not just because of the legal weed! :P). I don't know, I've never been rabid about anything really... Fan (= fanatic) yes, but never hysterical. Not even in my Take That days :P

Hahaha, yeah, that awkward moment when you realize your son's GF is into the same show as you ;) I am not old enough for that to happen, but I can see why that would be weird, lol! :))

That's interesting about the average tumblr age groups. I would have thought it skewed slightly younger. When i first joined it seemed as though everyone was 17 and whinging about school. :)
Being older myself i try not to add any under 18's if i can help it and try and follow older fans...they are out there.

I love to do photoshop so it has been great to get feedback there and i have chatted to a few people of the whole they are lovely.

Some of the art and meta on tumblr is simply mindblowing.
