August Fan Art Round-Up
I don't know if it was because a part of the planet was on vacation but fan art activity was a bit slower than usual this month. It shouldn't last with the end of Hellatus and all the big bangs ahead. However, a bit slower doesn't mean there isn't anything to see!
Highly recommended this month, this beautiful Wincest fan art by Every-broken-bone, this adorable art of Sam and Dean as children sleeping in front of the TV by xizarx, this Castiel portrait by Ravenno (omg, the lighting!), this gorgeous Dean/Castiel art by Artmetica and last but not least, this hilarious doodle of Jared inspired by the I am Human video by the Brian Buckley Band (you can also see it as a Sam fan art to be honest!).August was also the month we said good bye to the spn_j2_bigbang! I hope you had the occasion to check out the beautiful art posts by salty_catfish (NSFW), Culper355, Lamapan, and Space-Zombies who drew a one page Destiel comic (draw more comics people, they are fun ^^)
Meanwhile, in Japan...Robo!Sam has fun with his brother... (slightly NSFW)
If you are looking for a challenge to sign up to in order to keep you busy, there are plenty this month! The sassy_minibang (Sign-ups HERE, end: October 28th), the spnaubigbang (sign-ups HERE, end: October 31st), the big_bigbang (Sign-ups HERE, end: October 17th), the wincestielbang(Sign-ups HERE, end: November 2nd), the jimmybigbang (Sign-ups opens on September 1st, end: January 10th).
It was too late to talk about it in my latest round-up but the spn_reversebang is ON!! You still have until September 2nd to sign up and until September 17th to submit a piece of art to be claimed (if you want to submit two prompts however, your first art should be sent to the mods by email before September 3rd)
kamikazeremix prooves that remixe challenges aren't always opened to authors but that artists can have fun too. Don't hesitate to sign up here to remix another artist's work and to see your own work being remixed!
There is MORE!! dc_dystopia is hosting a comment fic/art exchange meme so if you are in a gloomy mood and feel like drawing gloomy art, you know where to go!!
One last rec' before leaving. It's not exactly linked to fan arts, but still...So if you want to see Jensen as a soldier, a psychic surrounded by psychedelic colors or as a scientist (bad!art ahead for this 3rd one!), Shameless Russian Covers is made for you!! Wonder what this is all about? Just keep in mind that Russian publishing companies don't give a damn about copyright and that Photoshop can give hilarious results when put in the right hands...
Last but not least, our little tutorial corner. For all the artists out there who think that skin tones are a mystery and that anatomy is a bitch a big problem, you should definitely check out this tutorial by Navate (skin tones, Part 1 and Part 2) but also this list of tutorials that will help you draw everything from hands to torso to feet! Very useful!
