My recs for this month are hopefully going to make you laugh
There are some very talented authors out there writing stories filled with heart-wrenching angst. These are not those stories. These are the stories written by authors who are able to make me bust a gut, and their authors are gifted with the power of laughter. Each of these is a gem! Enjoy.
1: "Love in a Hopeless Place", by raeschae
It's Chad's bachelor party. Rosenbaum keeps taking off his pants, Jared's there to support his best bud, and Jensen is there to support Jared. Excellent repartee here. A good warm up for the main event.
2: "Neon Showman", by bertee
I literally cried with laughter when I first read this. It's the development of the J2 relationship as seen through the eyes of one Chad Michael Murray, who I suspect is intrinsically funny. Go! Read! I dare you not to laugh.
3: "Inherent Propensity", by malcolm_stjay
Looks like Sam has given in and assumed his role as the boy-king of hell. Now he's developing really bad habits.
4: "Seventy Six Trombones Played Gloria Gaynor", by teand
If you like the idea of Jensen on a float in a pride parade wearing a skimpy mini-dress and go-go dancing, this fic is for you.
5: "Maybe Vader Someday Later Now He's Just a Small Fry", by poor_choices
It wouldn't be a set of funnies without at least one story by Chash. In this one, Geek Jared fanboys Actor Jensen for his role in a Star Wars movie. He's dressed as a Klingon so that he'll stand out at the convention...
6: "Epiphany: Chad", by qblackheart
Here's Chad again, and he's trying his best to be a matchmaker in his own inimitable way.
7: "I Taught Your Boyfriend That Thing You Like", by apocalypsos
Jared is a Hollywood blogger with a crush on Jensen the super-butch action star. He's bitchy and funny and definitely willing to help Jensen out in his self discovery. After all, to quote the fic, "Seriously, if you have a cock and you're going to question your sexuality, Jared's totally the one to do it with."
8: "This Could Get Messy", by saone77
Mob boss Jared has a stone killer boyfriend called Jensen, who is so lethal, he can kill you with a paper clip and not crack a smile. Jared would forgive him anything, not only because his love is true but also because Jensen would probably slit his throat. This is the first story of a series I urge you to read.
9: "Dork Reign: A Tale of Geek Love", by saone77
I try not to pick two from the same author as a rule, but this is too funny to ignore. Jensen is a comic geek who can tell you more than you ever wanted to know about Batman in all his incarnations. He runs a comic store and Jared is horribly shy and is trying to get up the nerve to talk to him.
10: "Custard", by thehighwaywoman
Brilliant first story in a short series of parodies of Scrubs. Jared takes the Zack Braf character. Dr. Ackles is the attending physician who thinks that he's God and wields the Raised, Unimpressed, Sardonic Eyebrow of Doom and torments him. Chris Kane is the angry Janitor, and the whole series is just hysterically funny.
11: "How to sell a guy a house in six weeks", by dijisun
Jared is a realtor, and specializes in insincere fawning. He's given a task that even he doesn't think he can pull off, namely to sell a house to a douche of a movie director whose name is Jensen Ackles.
12: "Late Night Double Feature", by Troll Princess
Jared's got a summer job at the movie theater. Jensen is an old hand, and Kripke is the evil boss.
13: "Let's Never Discuss This Again", by apocalypsos
Sam and Dean have swapped bodies... with Jared and Jensen. "Jared and Jensen are two actors who are such good friends that Jensen sleeps on Jared’s couch a lot and only goes over to his apartment to do things like replace moldy bread and get more lube." whick, as you might imagine, makes for a certain amount of confusion for the brothers Winchester.
So I hope that this selection will amuse and delight
