Vids + 1 tiny ficlet
Seeing as today was Canada Day, I thought I would start off a recs post with a vid set to a song from one of my favourite Canadian bands. More Than This by sickle_stories is set to Push by Moist, and it has a great concept. Is this really what John envisioned for his boys?
These, Our Bodies, Possessed By Light by graphicinmotion is probably familiar to a lot of you, but I just found it, and if you have not seen it yet, GO NOW. I was a bit skeptical at first, with the soft soundtrack and spoken word poetry, but it has layers and meaning and is beautifully cut together. It is Sam's journey through Dean's eyes, and it is fabulous.
Dueling Cellos Winchesters by ash48 is another vid with a lot of comments, and again for good reason. 1. It is set to cellists performing Smooth Criminal. That in and of itself is enough to get my interest, even without any fandom connection. 2. The cellists? Incredible. And she cuts images of the cellists - who happen to resemble Sam and Dean - into the vid as well as use SPN clips. They are as integral to the story as the clips are. 3. All around awesomely done video. Another one with layers to look at again and again, just an amazing job.
And finally, for those of us who are in the summer months, a ficlet by janissa11, featuring Dean + sunburn. I have been where he is without Demerol, and it ain't fun. The Burniest Person I Know. Let this serve as a fannish reminder to sunscreen! Check out some of the other stuff linked from the page as well, more goodies to be found.
