britomart_is, thank you.
Hey. I'm
tryfanstone, and I read. Sometimes, I write. I also love our show. Seriously, uncritically, and to an extent I find slightly worrying. People, I own mugs for this show.
It didn't start off this way. In fact, Supernatural and me, we got off to a really bad start, because I was writing in Highlander when season one showed, and rather a lot of authors I love were suddenly writing, not Highlander, but Sam/Dean. So many of them that I remember promising at the time, no, it's okay, I'll never write Supernatural.
Yeah, right.
Then, my partner in crime
q_i said, you have to watch this. Someone at a con rec'd The Jared Padalecki Untitled Project, and I read it and loved both concept and writing. I still do. I wanted more. And then there was
spn_j2_bigbang, two summers (then) full of the most wonderful stories, art and vids. Finally, two years after starting to read SPN, while season four was showing, I mainlined the whole series, and found myself pinned to my sofa wide-eyed and breathless.
Then, I started to write. In an American fandom. In a moving media fandom. With live canon. Honestly, I don't know what I was thinking. (I come from the arse end of the Atlantic: I don't own a television, and I'm all too aware of the perils of unfinished canon.)
Although actually, after nearly three years of WTF are you doing, Jay, I fairly well know why I started.
1. I find Dean Winchester really, really pretty. (1b. Sam too.)
2. Troubles with God. Seriously. Religion and sex: I'm hooked. Throw in some books, and I'm not just hooked, I'm writing.
3. The kinkmeme. The kinkmeme is awesome.
So. I write Sam/Dean casefic and J2 au porn. I thought, if you know anything I've written you'd know
social commentary with added knotting (Not, J2). Or possibly,
mirrors, windows, and other distorted images (Allegory, Sam/Dean). But Delicious tells me you guys actually liked
every single kink I could think of and then some (Or, bodice-ripping with chains, The King's Hound, J2) and
Homer, unironical. (Trojan Games, J2.) If you've been around a while in fandom, you may know I also write bookfic: I find being best known in SPN for porn and in fandom as a whole for Winnie the Pooh gen apocafic... a little amusing. If you're intrigued, fiction's
here.
When
britomart_is suggested doing Ask the Author, way back when, I felt slightly fraudulent, because writing's been tough this year, and not much got done. But right now, I'm sitting on three (no comment until they post!) finished stories for April (ten years in fandom) and an outline for
spn_j2_bigbang I'm happy with. So it's all good, people: what would you like to know?
