Hello! Thank you so much to oxoniensis for inviting me to host this round of Ask the Artist. I do hope I can step up to the challenge! I've written up a bit about myself and my drawing process to start us off :)

I prefer drawing Sam, but I find it easier to draw Dean. Sam is my favorite character, and Jared has such a great body... for drawing. (I appreciate his body on a strictly artistic level, of course. *cough*) Jensen's features are so exaggerated that I find it easier to draw his likeness, most of the time. I'm also more used to drawing "pretty" men (not that Jared isn't pretty, but!), so full lips/long lashes are part of my style already. But I love that drawing Sam means I have to step out of my comfort zone and draw a type of body/face I'm not used to. I'm never quite happy with how I draw him, but hopefully I'll get better with practice!

I don't draw enough women! /o\ This is again just force of habit; I've always preferred drawing guys over girls since my style is more suited to hard angles (bones/muscles) and exaggerated features (big nose, strong jaw, etc.). I would like to draw the ladies of SPN at some point, or genderswapped Sam&Dean ;D

This is so interesting because I am the complete opposite. I find Sam's face much easier to draw because Jensen's features are NOT as exaggerated. I guess it's not as much of an issue for you because you don't strive for photorealism, but Jensen's face is more asymmetrical than Jared's, despite the prettiness. And it's the teeny, hard-to-capture idiosyncrasies like the hitch in his nose and the slight inward slant of his teeth that sell the likeness.

And OMG, you must draw genderswap! I'll do it if you do ;)

As for stepping outside your comfort zone, I think we should both also commit to drawing real porns. NO MORE EXCUSES /o\

I think I have trouble with subtlety, lolol. Jared is gorgeous, but he has really unique features that alternate between ~delicate and manry. It's such a weird mix between the two! I can never get it right /o\

I definitely think if I was trying to draw photorealism I'd have a lot of trouble with Jensen. You're right about all his tiny "flaws" that somehow add up to perfection; for me, my favorite thing about Jensen's face is his eyelids. ..../creeper 8D
