Hello and welcome. My name is Mad and I'll be your guest reccer this month. To kick things off I thought I'd start with my favourite type of fic, the Crossover.
Nothing makes me quite as happy as stumbling over a well thought out crossover, where two worlds are beutifully mashed together into a believable situation. Well as believable as ghosts, demons and inter-planetary wormholes can be.
StarGate
Anise Rides Again by
redrikki Summary: While delivering vital information to earth, Anise takes a new host.
Rating: PG - Gen
There was no way I was going to rec anything without first saying READ THIS. It's my all time favourite fic, blending my childhood love of SG1 with my current obsession of Supernatural seamlessly. It set during the Stanford years, around Dean on his way to meet up with John, when a Tok'ra, Anise, crashes to earth. With her host dead, she has no other option but to borrow Dean to convey vital info to her human allies.

Redefining the Definition of "The Talk"Summary: Samantha Carter is accidentally pregnant. Does the father of the baby care?
Rating: PG - Het (Pairing: Dean Winchester/Sam Carter)
A sweet little kid!fic set during season 3 for Supernatural and AU for "The Talk". It's gorgeous and sad, yet it brings a smile to my face every time I read it.
Syndicated Sci-Fi Show by
claudiapriscus Summary: Sam and Dean have been lurching from show to show for days. They've been injured, humiliated, screwed with, and forced to live really bad writing. When they're finally plunked down in something a little calmer, if a little odd, they dare to hope they're being allowed a breather episode. After all, it seems to be a show about an expedition poking around some completely non-ominous ruins- like a fantasy version of a history channel special, the boys are sure it's bound to be nice and boring.
Rating: PG - Gen
Written for the Big Bang, this has pretty much everything you could want from fic (except for romance); explosions, snark and higher powers messing with our boys. Plus it's 34 000 words long so don't start it 'till you have a free couple of hours as it's very difficult to stop reading once you start.
Torchwood
Angels and Aliens 'Verse by
emeraldsnakes Summary: Ianto snorted, "A pagan god hanging out in a church?"
Rating: PG-13 -> R Slash (Pairings: Ianto!Gabriel & Dean/Castiel)
Not quite sure what to say about this so I'm just quote it to you:
Ianto shook his head, "This is all screwed up."
"You're telling me. The body I fashioned for myself 2000 years ago just got destroyed by Lucifer, Michael's bitching over the angel radio about how his vessel won't say yes, God's missing, Castiel's screwing Michael's vessel and Lucifer's true vessel keeps making moon eyes at me. You damn mud monkeys would really be annoying if you weren’t so useful."
Buffy/Angel
The Sun Is Shinin' And I Wanna Go by
dollarformyname Summary: Fate has a roundabout way of getting to the point. Spike's not a fan of detours.
Rating: FR15 - Gen? WIP
Ok, so there is only one chapter with no guarantee of when the next one will appear, But Spike is dumped into the Supernatural universe and saves Ben on a journey to find his father. It is brilliant.
Birthday Boy by
mute90 Summary: It's time for Sam's employee birthday party at Wolfram & Hart. Sam is not pleased.
Rating: PG-13 Gen
An AU in which Layer!Sam works for Wolfram & Hart. Mildly cracktastic
Harry Potter
January Girl by
parenthetical Summary: With Sam trying out normal life at Stanford and his father working an undercover gig across the country, Dean is on his own and getting reckless. While investigating a series of mysterious deaths, he runs into a strange witch called Luna Lovegood, who is searching for what she calls a 'Horcrux'. (Seriously?) Suddenly Dean finds himself dealing with evil wizards, broomsticks, Bat-Bogey Hexes, Dementors, mirrors which order him to wear a pointy hat, and much more - all the while trying not to think too much about Luna's last name and whether it's accurate.
Rating: PG13 - Het (Pairing: Dean Winchester/Luna Lovegood)
This is not you usual HP crossover where Sam & Dean miraculously find themselves attending Hogwarts, in fact the wonder trio barely make an appearance and we stay in America. Luna is just the right amount of crazy, dragging Dean along for the ride and creating his fear of flying.
Star Trek
Going Boldly Forth &
The Family Business by
monjinator and the sequel
Where No Man Has Gone Before by
cherie_morte Summary: Dammit Dean, I'm a hunter, not a Trekkie!
Rating: PG13 - Gen (though there is a minor bit of Dean Winchester/Jim Kirk
This is my kind of crack. Dean as a Trekkie and Sam making snarky Star Wars comments. It had me in stitches when reading and still makes smile when I think back on it.
