Ask the vidder - obsessive24
Hi, I'm obsessive24 (Nicky) and oxoniensis has kindly asked me to be in the hot seat this month. I'm really excited about this, although I noted that to date I've technically made only 1.3 SPN vids, but Signe assured me that we can talk about not!SPN vids if need be, so I guess we'll just play it by ear.
I started vidding in early 2005, focussing on the Whedonverse. I've since become more of a multi-fandom whore and tend to run around sticking my finger in every pie once. To be honest, I haven't done much in the way of SPN vidding because there is such a huge and beautiful body of work out in the fandom already that I'm never sure if I could add anything meaningful to the mix. Although recent seasons have given rise to a couple of SPN crack vid ideas that I hope to tackle in the next year.
To date my 1.3 SPN vids are:
Fall of Man, Castiel character, Dean/Castiel.
Climbing up the Walls, multi-fandom SPN/Firefly/Heroes.
The latter is definitely not safe for work. The former may be... if your work is pretty liberal? Use your own discretion. ;)
I'm also happy to discuss my vids in other fandoms. They can be found on my website obsessive24.net, or by following the new vid tag on my LJ.
I vid on a PC with Adobe Premiere 6.5 and occasionally After Effects. I keep trying to upgrade to something that's less dinosaur than AP6.5, but so far have not managed to succeed despite multiple tech-savvy friends helping out. I would like to blame it on my hardware not being up to spec, but honestly it's just because I'm lazy and resistant to change.
