I remember reading the original fic, and commenting that I was really happy that they had somewhere safe to go when things went bad, (not that John was likely to take up the offer), and this was exactly how I imagined it.

I love that Aster has a fantastic car, and that she's studying chemical engineering (her reminding Dean of Sam made my heart squeeze). And the photo! Just gorgeous.

This is such an awesome way to remix it - essentially just re-telling the story, a bunch of years on.

I love how you've picked up & where you've taken the original characters - how June/Jude is still ballsy and probably-taught-John-everything-he-knows. I love that John taught Dean everything he knows, and so June can make him confused/uncomfortable in the same way she can make John confused/uncomfortable. I love Aster & her studies, and how she still wants to play with Sam and how she makes Dean miss Sam. I love, again, the play on what happened before and what was said before, and how you didn't just regurgitate the original, but made it a whole new story about family and *their* family.
